Ecologically-minded Cleaning for Baby Clothes and other items

These natural and simple methods of care will keep baby’s trousseau beautiful, clean, and fresh.

Household soap:
its qualities and smell of cleanliness makes it an indispensable product for washing, whitening or removing stains from baby’s linen. It will cope with numerous tasks if the washing is left to soak for few hours in soapy water, especially baby’s chocolate stains.

Lavender:
just like household soap, this is indispensable to perfume and refresh linen. Lavender water will facilitate ironing when sprinkled on linen. A few drops of lavender essential oil placed on a small cushion or soft toy (or a few lavender flowers placed in the cupboard) will perfume the linen, purify baby’s bedroom and keep insects away such as head lice. Lavender has a variety of other properties - it is soothing and antiseptic among other things.

Lemon juice and white vinegar are other natural products that deal beautifully with the removal of every day stains such as fruit.

Hydrogen peroxide:
will whiten the cotton fabric of bibs, swaddling blankets and bed linen.
