Useful technique to cover tear, transform garments or add pockets
To cover a tear: measure the tear and add a 2cm margin all way around
Add a further 1.5cm each side for returns (i.e 3 cm on the width and 3 cm on the length)
Cut the patch to the correct measurements required


To ensure perfect round corners bast at 1 cm from edge - then slightly pull the thread - the edges will curve by themselves and you will obtain a patch with perfect rounded corners
Iron carefully the patch, pin the back of the patch to the right side of the fabric - tack with pins and then sew either by machine or hand at 5mm from the edge - take away the pins
