Today's Choice of Wedding Style - How to dress your child

For a UK formal wedding where the bride wears a traditional ornate wedding dress and the bridegroom wears a Morning Suit, if the children are taking part into the wedding cortege, boys can wear silk double-breasted shirts and velvet breeches whilst the girls can wear silk ankle length dresses - both with accessories matching the bride's colour scheme cortege.

Guests can also be coordinated to the cortege look. 

Today a green, intimate, casual elegant wedding may be the more popular choice. Here the bride might either wear a long white satin gown (or a shorter cocktail-style dress) and the groom a dark navy or grey suit. Children taking part in the wedding cortege can wear:
-  for the boys, linen tailored shorts and shirt,
-  for the girls, mid-calf linen dresses,
... both with matching accessories coordinated to the cortege colour scheme. Again guests can also be co-ordinated for an elegant look.
